Girl Scouts to present ‘Leading Women Awards’

Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England (GSSNE) and Rhode Island Monthly Magazine will honor eight prominent and inspirational leading women of distinction who directly impact

The community and exemplify the Girl Scout mission to build girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place this evening at 5 at the Citizens Bank Rotunda in Providence.

Those being honored on April 28 include Alison Bologna, Award-Winning Journalist, Anchor of NBC 10 News Sunrise with Frank Coletta; Gail Lowney Alofsin, Director of Corporate Partnership & Community Relations at Newport Harbor Corporation, Adjunct Professor at the University of RI and Salve Regina; Julie Sygiel, founder of Dear Kate, Co-Founder The Lady Project, and Board Member of the Girl Scouts of the USA National Board of Directors; Kathy O’Donnell, Senior Vice President, Head of Public Affairs for Citizens Bank, current Board Member of the Rhode Island Community Food Bank;

Also, Meg DeCubellis, Creative Director and a partner in illumiNITE, Co-Founder of the Katie DeCubellis Memorial Foundation, and Fashion and Apparel Professor at Rhode Island School of Design and University of Rhode Island; Sierra Barter, CEO & co-founder of the Lady Project, social media coordinator at Johnson & Wales University, Board Chair for The Lady Project; Nellie Gorbea, Secretary of State, Rhode Island and Nancy Armstrong, Lifetime Girl Scout Member and Volunteer.
