Gloria G. (Schmidt) Myers, 85, a Coventry resident for over 50 years, entered into eternal rest March 12, 2012 surrounded by the love of her beloved family and fully knowing that Jesus was her lord and savior. She was the wife of the late Raymond Myers Jr.

Born in Newark, N.J., she was a daughter of the late William P. and Caroline (Leicht) Schmidt. Mrs. Myers was a payroll supervisor for Kent Hospital until her retirement in 1998. She was a member of Cornerstone of Faith United Methodist Church and enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and cruising to Bermuda, which she had done 10 times.

She was the beloved mother of Clifford W. Myers of North Providence, Glenn R. Myers of Coventry, Linda C. Moreau of Henderson, Nev., Dorothy E. Moran of Cranston, Debra J. Newton of Newport and Lori J. Sprague of Warwick, loving grandmother of nine and great-grandmother of seven. She was the sister of the late Hazel C. Brown.

Her funeral service was held March 14 at 10 a.m. in Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Ave., Warwick. Burial will follow in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown.
