The city has been named to a local “best communities” list for the quality of life Warwick offers.
GoLocalProv.com, a local online publication, ranked Warwick fourth on its Rhode Island Best Communities 2012 list issued recently. The GoLocalProv Best Communities Team noted that Warwick is the only Top 10 community to maintain its 2011 ranking and that this year marks the third consecutive appearance on the Top 10 list.
The ranking notes that “it takes consistency to hold a spot this high in the rankings (especially with 2012’s adjustments in ranking formulas), and Warwick accomplishes this by remaining very affordable, and bringing big-city offerings to the arts and culture table,” as well as for its restaurant/bar offerings.
Last summer, Warwick was one of five Rhode Island communities named to Liveability.com’s list of the top 500 municipalities throughout the country. That ranking noted Warwick’s reputation as the state’s “retail capital” and its proximity to Kent Hospital among its assets.
Warwick has also been named twice to MONEY Magazine’s “Best Places to Live in America” list in the past decade.
