Grace E. (Papa) Paul, age 87, formerly of Chestnut Street, Warwick, died on Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at West Shore Health Center in Warwick.

Born in Cranston, a daughter of the late Andrea and Maria (Moretti) Papa, she lived in Providence before moving to Warwick 52 years ago. Mrs. Paul was employed as a secretary, and spent the last 5 years of her career at the U.S. Postal Service in Providence. Grace was a very enthusiastic gardener and seamstress. In the 1940’s she was a band singer and sang at Rhodes–on-the- Pawtuxet.

She is survived by a daughter, Lauren Paul and her husband, Thomas, of Warwick; a brother, Alfred Papa of Cranston; and several nieces and nephews. She was the former wife of the late Frank J. Paul, and the sister of the late Pauline Costa, Vera Reavey, Albert Papa, Antone Papa, Henry Papa, Rose Czerkiewicz, and Anna Cardarelli.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, February 6, from 9-11 a.m., with a prayer service at 11 a.m., in the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick. Burial will be private.
