Greenwood students to take stand against bullying

As October is National Bullying Prevention Month, students at Greenwood Elementary School will take a stand against bullying Wednesday morning. According to PTA President Kathleen Egan-Usler, Wednesday is National Bullying Prevention Day, so children in all grades will be wearing orange, the color that signifies anti-bullying awareness.

“Nobody needs to be bullied, but unfortunately it does happen,” said Egan-Usler, who along with her husband, Erik, has two children at the school, including Egan, 9, a fourth grader, and Tyler, 6, a first grader. The couple also has two more children, Harrison, 2, and Ireland, 1. Egan-Usler said she will be at the school handing out orange ribbons and bookmarks to the children and letting them know what to do if they are bullied or witness another child being bullied.
