A multi-instrumentalist who plays tenor and alto sax, harp and guitar, Piccolo has been a busy man during his 44-year performing career. For 25 years he was leader, singer and saxophonist for the multi-Grammy nominated band, Roomful of Blues. Greg, along with the rest of Roomful, was recently inducted into the Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame (February 2012).

For the last few years, Greg has been touring internationally with Jimmie Vaughan, resulting in the 2010 collaboration album “Plays, Blues, Ballads and Favorites,” which was nominated for a 2011 Grammy Award for Best Traditional Blues Album. They also recorded the song, "The Ironic Twist,” which was nominated for 1999 Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance. Then there's the WC Handy Award/Blues Award nomination for best saxophonist.

Piccolo also appeared with Vaughan on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" in 2010 and at Lincoln Center in New York, joined by W.C. Clark, Lou Ann Barton and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame winner Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top in 2011.

Greg's seemingly endless credits also include performing on Eric Clapton's "Crossroads Guitar Festival 2010" (DVD), Jimmie Vaughan's 2002 Grammy Award winning album, "Do You Get the Blues?" and Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Carnegie Hall Concert" (CD). Additionally he has recorded and/or performed with Pat Benatar, Etta James, Dr. John, Big Joe Turner, Eddie Vinson, J. Geils and Earl King and has opened shows for B.B. King and Robert Cray.

Back on the road doing his own thing, Greg & Heavy Juice will rock the house at Chan's this Friday.
