Hair Cuttery joins in drive to collect coats

The Hair Cuttery salon in Warwick has joined in a national Hair Cuttery campaign, Krausey’s Koats – a drive that was started 6 years ago by former radio personality Joe Krause with the help of the IBEW. During the past 6 holiday seasons, Krausey’s Koats has collected more than 15,000 coats and cold-weather clothing.

Hair Cuttery, the largest family-owned and operated chain of hair salons in the country, partnered with the Krausey’s Koats campaign last year in the Philadelphia area and successfully collected 6,500 coats for those in need there. “This year,” says Dennis Ratner, Hair Cuttery Founder and CEO, “with the expansion of the program into other regions of the country, including New England, we hope to collect even more cold-weather clothing for those in need. That would certainly make it a merrier holiday for all of us.”

Hair Cuttery has begun collecting gently used coats, jackets, hats, scarves or mittens at any of their 44 of New England salons, including the Warwick salon. Collections will end January 1st, 2012. The transportation and delivery of the winter gear will be handled in collaboration with the United States Army. All collected items will be delivered to local missions and homeless shelters, and a variety of non-profits serving the needy, such as: St. Vincent DePaul Society, the Salvation Army and Cradles to Crayons.

Hair Cuttery has an established legacy of charitable giving. The company supports a number of national and local causes, including: Dress for Success, American Cancer Society, Special Olympics, Buzzing 4 Change, National Kidney Foundation, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and Locks of Love.

Hair Cuttery is the largest family owned and operated chain of hair salons in the country, with nearly 800 company-owned locations on the East Coast, and in New England and the Midwest. A full-service, value-priced salon, Hair Cuttery offers a full complement of cuts and styling, coloring, waxing and texturizing services with no appointment necessary, as well as a full line of professional hair care products. Hair Cuttery is a division of Ratner Companies, based in Vienna, VA. www.haircuttery.com
