Harriet (Arnold) Charpentier, 89, formerly of Warwick, RI, passed away on January 21, 2015. She was the wife of the late Francis Charpentier.

Born in Palatine, Illinois, she was the daughter of Harry and Dorothy (Massoni) Arnold. Married in Abilene, Texas, she then lived in Rhode Island for over 60 years, settling in Warwick in January 1955. She was a past commander of the Woman’s Auxiliary of the American Legion, and the Disabled American Veterans. Before retiring, she worked much of her years as a waitress, donating a lot of her free time to charitable organizations and helping the elderly. After retiring to Dayton, Ohio, she devoted time to aiding children in Haiti. She was a communicant of Saint Kevin’s Church of Warwick, RI and in Ohio, a communicant of Saint Rita’s of Dayton.

She leaves a son Frank J. Charpentier and his wife, Helen, of Lake Butler, Florida, and a daughter, Susan A. (Charpentier) Sinnott and her husband, Gary of Morristown, Vermont. She was preceded in death by her siblings Harry and David Arnold, Lucy (Heide), Arlene, (Gray), and Laverne (Olsen). She also leaves a brother, Edmund Arnold of Illinois. Harriet is survived by many nieces, nephews; and grandchildren. Harriet’s last act of charity was to donate her remains to the Anatomical Gift Program at Wright State University in Dayton Ohio. In light of this, no immediate services will be held.

Her ashes will eventually be joined with her late husband’s at the Veterans Cemetery in RI at a later date.

The family requests that in lieu of services, a donation be made to the Saint Jude Research Hospital for Children.
