Hawks’ Perreault earns All-America nod

Posted

Bishop Hendricken standout Alex Perreault is one of five Rhode Island Interscholastic League players to be named High School All-America by US Lacrosse.

Perreault, a recently graduated senior who plays both midfield and attack, scored 19 goals with six assists this past season, which was shortened do to a shoulder injury that kept him out for much of the second half of the year.

An All-American recipient last year as well, Perreault will play lacrosse next season for Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md., one of the top programs in the nation.

Perreault’s Hendricken team lost this year in the Division I semifinals 11-10 to Moses Brown.

Three La Salle players and one Moses Brown player earned recognition along with Perreault. For La Salle, senior attack Brady O’Donnell and senior defender Dan Wise were on the list, as was sophomore attack Joe Manown. For Moses Brown, senior midfielder Jamie McCahan earned the honor.

James Payette of East Greenwich and Alexander Graff of Wheeler were named US Lacrosse Academic All-America.
