Bishop Hendricken won its third-straight state championship last weekend, but it didn’t have much time to enjoy it, as the Hawks were back at it this past weekend, competing at the New England Wrestling Championships in North Andover, Mass.

The Hawks, who had eight wrestlers compete at the meet, placed 39th out of 169 teams.

Although the Hawks didn’t place anyone at New England’s, they were able to compile 20 points.

Hendricken got individual wins from freshmen Devin Rivet, Dylan DiSano and Cam Nappi, as well as Nick Martino.

Rivet and DiSano paced the Hawks with three wins apiece, while Nappi and Martino each notched one.

In terms of Rhode Island schools at New England’s, Hendricken finished third, with Moses Brown finishing in eighth and Mt. Hope placing 34th.

The Quakers’ Abraham Bloom won the New England title at 113, while Andrew Howard placed third at 138.

For the Huskies, Tylor Fenwick placed fourth at 220 with three victories.

Vermont’s Mt. Anthony won the team title by a landslide with 122.5 points, as Connecticut’s Newton High School came in second with just 84 points.
