After eight days on the run, the male Lady Amherst Pheasant seen strutting throughout Warwick was recently captured and returned to his owners. Kim Matteson, who said her pet took flight after her husband tried to feed him, received multiple phone calls of sightings from all corners of Warwick – including the T.F. Green Airport Police, who tracked him onto the runways. The bird, which for nearly three years did not have a name, has now earned the title ‘Houdini’ for his great escape attempt. At last report, he’s resting comfortably with his partner, Harriett.
