Helen G. Malloy

Helen G. Malloy, 75, of Manasquan, New Jersey and formerly of Warwick, died peacefully on December 30, 2012, after a short but courageous battle with cancer.

Born in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Helen (Barrett) and Stephen P. Glennon. Helen graduated from Trinity College in Washington, DC, earned a diploma from the Trust Officer Banking Institute in Chicago, and retired as a trust officer from Bank of America. Helen was an active Realtor in the Bay Head office of Cara Realty. Known as “Sissy” to her close friends and family, Helen was a wonderful mother and grandmother, and a loving sister, aunt, and cousin. She was a gracious hostess and loved to listen and dance to Irish music. Helen devoted her life to her family and will be greatly missed by them all. Her entourage of friends will miss her as well. A devout Catholic, Helen served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Mark’s Church in Sea Girt and at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church in Longboat Key, Florida. She was a member of the pastoral care team at Jersey Shore Medical Center and was a faithful volunteer at the annual charity golf outing sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Council 3231. She served as treasurer of Four Seasons’ House and Recreation Committee for nine years. The Malloys raised their children in Warwick, RI, and retired to Four Seasons at Wall in 1998.

Helen is survived by her loving husband of fifty-three years, Thomas F. Malloy, their five children Michael G. Malloy (Wipawee), Anne Latour (Kim), Elizabeth Parks (David), Julie Hildebrand (Eric), and Christine Gaudreau (Kevin), and ten grandchildren Glennon, Zachary, Catherine, Andrew, Alex, Colin, Tricia, Thomas, Nicholas and Finn. Also surviving her are siblings Marion Glennon, Nancy McIntosh (Doug), Patricia Whamond, Stephen P. Glennon Jr., Charles V. Glennon (Kate), and Frances Dunlop (Jeffrey).

A Mass of Christian Burial was held in New Jersey on January 3, 2013. Arrangements were by Orender Family Home for Funerals in Manasquan.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St Mark’s Catholic Church (attn: Social Concerns Committee) in Helen’s memory would be greatly appreciated. The address for St. Mark’s Church is 215 Crescent Parkway, Sea Girt, NJ 08750.
