Helen N. (Burns) Del Vecchio, age 85, of Quaker Lane, Warwick, and formerly of Teakwood Drive, Warwick, died on February 3, 2013 at Kent County Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Anthony D. Del Vecchio.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late John and Helen (Furtaw) Burns, she lived in Warwick for 60 years. Mrs. Del Vecchio was a licensed practical nurse, and was employed at Women & Infants Hospital for over 30 years, retiring in 1987. She was a loving mother and devoted grandmother.
She is survived by a daughter, Debra N. Nisbet and her husband, Dr. J. Douglas Nisbet, II of Warwick; a sister, Beatrice Tanner and her husband, Arthur of Warwick; three grandchildren, J. Douglas Nisbet, III and his wife, Alexandra, Ryan Anthony Nisbet, and Heather N. Nisbet; and several nieces and nephews, including Pamela Teague, Kristen Dori, and Stacie Souza. She was the sister of the late William Burns and John Burns.
Her funeral service will be held on Friday, February 8, at 10 a.m. in the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited, and may visit on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans’ Cemetery, Exeter.
