Hendricken Chaplain preps for ‘grill the priests’ event

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence’s Young Adult Ministry has announced a unique opportunity to learn more about the teachings of the Catholic Church on Friday, April 26 at 7 p.m. at Dave & Buster’s in Providence Place Mall.

This social event, geared to those young adults in their 20s and 30s, provides a unique opportunity to grill a panel of seven priests about any aspect of Catholicism – and about their personal faith journey.

Rev. Christopher Murphy, ordained in 2012, serves as Chaplain at Bishop Hendricken High School and associate pastor at St. Thomas More parish in Narragansett. As chaplain, he provides spiritual guidance and pastoral care to students and staff. Father Murphy, one of several panelists for this event, will discuss dealing with unexpected tragedies in life.

“For those who wonder about Church teachings on an array of issues, this event presents a one-on-one means by which to learn more about the faith, directly from a priest,” said Jenn Bruneau, event moderator and young adult Catholic. “The priests have a wealth of knowledge and diverse experiences through their work in a variety of ministries, including college and young adult chaplaincy, administration and parish pastor.”

Tickets can be purchased at http://tinyurl.com/grillthepriests and include full buffet. A cash bar is available. For more information, contact Lisa Gulino at lgulino@dioceseofprovidence.org or visit the Young Adult Ministry page at www.discovercatholicfaith.org.
