Bishop Hendricken High School’s Drama Department will perform “The Crucible” this weekend, holding three performances in the Harrop Theater.

“The Crucible,” written by Arthur Miller, is a fictional account of the Salem Witch Trials of the late 17th century. The play, which won a Tony award for Best Play in 1953, tells the story of a young farmer, John Procter. When Procter’s wife Elizabeth is accused of witchcraft through a young servant girl’s lie, he must find a way to clear her name. Procter attempts to force the girl to admit her lie in court, only to find himself accused of witchcraft as well.

Performances will be Friday, Nov. 22 and Saturday, Nov. 23 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 24 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for seniors and students. They can be purchased through the online box office at www.hendricken.com or by calling the Box Office at 739.3450 ex. 172.
