Edgewood Congregational Church has expanded its annual Christmas bazaar to include Breakfast with Santa and a Holiday Festival of the Arts in addition to its traditional crafts fair, breakfast and luncheon, bake sale, straw raffle, collectibles, Christmas items, jewelry and other gift items.

The event takes place at the church, 1788 Broad St. in Cranston, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will coincide with the grand opening of the Edgewood Church Thrift Shop, featuring clothing and household items at bargain prices.

Breakfast with Santa will consist of pancakes, sausage, fruit, milk, cereal and juice and will include a visit from Santa, Mrs. Claus and the elves. Face painting, story- telling and cookie decorating, plus a gift from Santa will be included. Cost for children ages 2 and up is $7. Registration forms are available by calling 461-1344 or online at www.edgewoodchurchri.org.

A “Big Breakfast” will also be served for adults, which includes pancakes, sausage/ham, beans, potato casserole, quiche and more from 9-11 a.m. Luncheon will include ham and meatball sandwiches with a side of Pat’s Super Potato Salad, plus a ham/bean/potato salad plate. Assorted desserts will be available all day.

The Kids’ Room will feature Johnson & Wales students reading The Polar Express, with a special surprise of real-life characters from the classic. Each child will receive a “passport” to the North Pole. And, of course, there will be a special visit from Santa Claus.

A wide variety of vendors will be selling their wares, along with items made by church members. Jewelry, candy, t-shirts, ornaments, gift baskets and other Christmas items will be for sale.

The Holiday Festival of the Arts is a major fundraiser of Edgewood Congregational Church, an Open and Affirming Church involved in many charitable activities serving Cranston, Warwick, Providence and beyond.
