AFSUSA is looking to place foreign high school aged students in area host homes for the upcoming academic year. The program has already placed eight students with Rhode Island host families and it looking for at least an additional four.
Each year more than 2,300 students from 90 countries come to the United States to study in high school and live with host families. By hosting an AFS exchange student, hosts begin to see the world differently. Profiles of available students who have been selected to come to the area are available by visiting www.afsusa.org/host-family/our-students.
AFSUSA currently has some wonderful girls and boys from Czech Republic, Italy, Norway, Thailand, Germany, Belgium and Indonesia who need homes in Rhode Island. Take a few minutes to look at the student profiles. Any family interested in opening their homes to a study abroad student for the 2016-2017 school year should contact JoAnne Hanrahan at jhanrahan@afsusa.org. Students will arrive for the school year on Sept. 8. For further information, visit AFSUSA.org. AFS is an international leader in student exchange for the past 65 years.
