Pilgrim put a five-game winning streak on the line in one of its toughest tests of the season Monday night. After leading at halftime against one-loss Mt. Hope, the Pats saw that streak end with a 64-47 loss.

The Huskies out-scored the Patriots 35-16 after the break while improving to 11-1 on the season. Mt. Hope point guard Kyle Valenzuela scored a game-high 22 points, with Matt Scott and Alex Francis scoring 13 each. Ryan Morris led Pilgrim with 17 and Chris Duchesneau added 10.

The Pats got a quick chance to bounce back and did just that on Tuesday with a 54-35 victory over Mount St. Charles. Duchesneau buried four three-pointers on the way to 22 points. Letrelle Johnson chipped in with 15 and Morris scored nine.

Pilgrim hosts Burrillville on Friday at 6:30 p.m. before a big stretch next week. The Pats will host Juanita Sanchez on Monday at 6:30 p.m. The Cavaliers currently own a half-game edge on Pilgrim for first place in Division III-Central. Next Wednesday, Pilgrim hosts Toll Gate.
