Iggy’s chowder, clamcakes feed Toys for Tots drive

In another effort to give back to the community of Warwick, which has helped the business throughout the years, Iggy’s is hosting a Toys for Tots Campaign.

General Manager Chris Cifelli said four years ago he and owner David Gravino were discussing ways they could give back to the community and Cifelli suggested a toy drive.

Both Gravino and Cifelli had previously wanted to participate in a Toys for Tots drive and thought it would be a great idea to involve Iggy’s.

In their first year, Iggy’s helped to collect 1,000 toys. Each year they have slowly increased, collecting 1,500 toys last year.

This year they hope to reach 2,000 toys.

“We are a family-based business, we all have kids and no one wants to see a child go without on Christmas morning. I can’t think of what it must feel like to have nothing to open,” Cifelli said.

From now until Dec. 21 customers who bring in a brand new and unwrapped toy, equal to at least a $5 value, to Iggy’s in Warwick will receive a small bowl of chowder, three clam cakes and a small fountain beverage.

Cifelli said it’s a “great deal” to be able to bring in a toy and enjoy clam cakes and chowder all the while helping to make a kid’s Christmas.
