Island Moving Co. bringing ‘A Thousand Reflections’ to Rhode Island College

Newport’s Island Moving Co. has been invited by Rhode Island College Director of Dance Angelica Vessella to perform in the college’s fall dance season on Friday, Oct. 10.

The curtain for “A Thousand Reflections” will be 7:30 p.m. at the Sapinsley Hall Auditorium at the Nazarian Center at 600 Mount Pleasant Ave. in Providence. Tickets will be available at the door and through the center’s box office at the www.ric.edu website. The concert is sponsored by the Rhode Island College Dance Company. Ticket prices are $15 and $5 for students.

Artistic Director Miki Ohlsen will present choreography by IMC’s Associate Artistic Director Spencer Gavin Hering; Stephanie Martinez, Scott Putman and Andrea Dawn Shelley, as well as her own work, “Continua Metamorfosi.” The Company’s 10 dancers will perform a program ranging from the sassy lightheartedness of Hering’s “Levitation” to the complex grandeur of Putman’s “Land of a Thousand Reflections,” which they will have performed just previously on a tour to Richmond, Va., in September.

For further information about the Rhode Island College performance, call Island Moving Co. at 401-847-4470 or see the websites at ric.edu or islandmovingco.org.
