John Vincent McCulloch

John Vincent McCulloch, 83, died July 3, 2011 in Orange Park, Fla. He was a native of Altoona, Pa. and a former resident of Warwick. He resided in Fleming Island, Fla. since 2003. His is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marcella (Sheedy) McCulloch.
He was the son of the late Duncan L. and Jessie McCulloch. Mr. McCulloch retired as vice president of AMICA Mutual Insurance Co. in Providence. He had been associated with AMICA for 41 years as an underwriter. He held the professional designation of certified property casualty underwriter and served on many insurance industry-governing committees both at the state and national levels. He was also active in school, church and civic affairs.
He was a 1950 graduate of Brown University, where he was a member of Theta Delta Chi fraternity. He had served in the U.S. Navy during the World War II era. His last assignment was aboard the light cruiser USS Pasadena. Mr. McCulloch was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fleming Island.
Besides his wife he is survived by five children, Georgann M. Lardaro of Peace Dale, Andrew R. McCulloch of Lake Oswego, Ore., Monica A. Black of Hingham, Mass., Mary Louise Jones of Fleming Island and Megan M. Pickel of Saint Johns, Fla.; and 10 grandchildren.
There will be no viewing. A funeral mass will be held July 16 at 10 a.m. in Helm-Gallagher Funeral Home, 1811 Idlewild Ave.,
Green Cove Springs, Fla.
