June C. (Kendall) Irish, 90, of Norwood Ave., died June 22, 2011 in the Scandinavian Home, Cranston. She was the widow of Thomas P. Irish. Mrs. Irish was born in Providence, a daughter of the late Edward and Bessie (Thornton) Kendall, and had been a lifetime resident of Warwick. She was a graduate of the Roger Williams Medical Center School of Nursing with an RN degree and worked as a registered nurse at Rhode Island Hospital, Jane Brown Unit, until her retirement in 1982. She also was a private duty nurse for the Gerry family in Rhode Island. For many years earlier in her life she was an active member of Norwood Baptist Church in Warwick and helped start the Norwood Shelter in Warwick. She is survived by two daughters, Michelle Hanson and her husband, Bruce, of Warwick and Pamela Mangano and her husband, Frank, of Quinette, Ga., and her son, Robert H. Carr and his wife, Emily, of Saunderstown. She was the mother of the late Thomas Irish and sister of the late Inez Rathbun and Edward Kendall. Her funeral service will be held June 28 at 10 a.m. in Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Ave., West Warwick.
