Hurricane Sandy left little behind on the grounds of Roger Williams Park Zoo for crews to clean up. “We’ve got leaves to rake and a few small trees and branches to take care of,” said Ron Patalano, deputy director of operations, “but otherwise we’re in good shape.”
Both the Zoo and Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular re-opened Wednesday in time for Halloween. Intricate pumpkin art was stored indoors for the storm, and the pumpkins on the trail suffered no serious damage. Carvers will work to replace jack-o-lanterns that deteriorated in the rain. The Spectacular runs through Saturday, Nov. 3.
