Jacqueline A. Olsen, 87, of Warwick died June 7, 2012 at home. Harry, her devoted husband of 64 years, was by her side.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Dr. John W. Sweeney and Margaret J. (Urquhart) Sweeney. Jackie was a graduate of Hope High School and Johnson & Wales Business School. Jackie lived in Warwick since 1951. Jackie loved the ocean and was an avid swimmer, sailor, and beachgoer all her life. Jackie also enjoyed traveling with Harry - vacationing on four continents, trekking cross country in their motor home with their beloved Boston Terriers and boating in New England as well as the Caribbean. Her favorite spot, though, was sitting on her own back porch overlooking Cedar Tree Point, surrounded by family and friends. She will live in our hearts always.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Harry; and four children, Randi LaRoche, of North Kingstown, Jessie MacLean and her husband, Kenneth, also of North Kingstown, Marie Palmer and her husband, Douglas, of Warwick, and J. Christian Olsen and his wife, Janice, also of Warwick. Jacqueline is also survived by her eight adored grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sisters, Helen L. Sweeney and Margaret J. Lamiroy.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Clement Church on June 11, 2012.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904 will be greatly appreciated. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home. For online messages of condolence, please visit www.murphyfuneralhomes.org
