James ”Jim” Gerard Donnelly, formerly of North Kingstown and Warwick, passed peacefully at home on August 2, 2016 in San Antonio, TX.
Jim, born June 30, 1953, Brooklyn, NY, was the son of the late James and Eileen Donnelly. He was the son of Kathleen M. Donnelly of South Kingstown, RI. Jim retired from Metropolitan Life Insurance Company after a career that expanded more than thirty years, from mailroom to district administrator. He spoke fondly of the friendships he made during his tenure as well as those of his Brooklyn childhood. Jim’s greatest joy was family but had an unparalleled love for music, coffee, conversation, FOX news, the ocean, and his New England Patriots.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Irene Nip of San Antonio, TX, his devoted six children: Robin (Mansur) Cross, Michael Mansur, Elizabeth (Donnelly) Hepp, James F. Donnelly, their mother, Ivah (Donnelly) Betros , Emily and Douglas Aabbad, as well as two sons-in -law, Vincent Cross and Alan Hepp.. A loyal husband to his late wife and soulmate, Patty (Brown) Donnelly, Jim also loved and took great pride in his children and grandchildren: Brandon and Dylan Cross, Alison and Annaliese Hepp, and Ceceila and Caitlyn Mansur. He leaves behind eleven brothers and sisters: George, Margaret, Mary, Patrick, Francis, Michael, and Richard Donnelly, John and Kenneth Wilson, Susan (Wilson) Carter, and Eileen (Donnelly) Godbout.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Veronica Chapel, 1035 Boston Neck Road Narragansett, Rhode Island. Burial will be private.
