James L. Snead, Jr., 62, of Warwick, passed away on April 26, 2013 at home. He was the beloved husband of 40 years to Mary A. (Izzi) Snead.
Born in Providence, he was a son of James L. Snead of Providence and Elizabeth (Francis) DePina of North Providence. James was a school teacher for 22 years in Providence where he received “Teacher Of The Year” and numerous other awards. He was active in church, sports and community activities for the youth. He formed the Providence Youth Wrestling Organization and was a Drug Abuse Counselor and Clinical Director of MAP. He enjoyed art and photography.
Besides his wife and parents; he leaves his children, Kory Goodlow, Matthew Symonds, James L. Snead III, Joshua, Jerry and Samuel and Elisabeth Snead; and ten grandchildren. Also survived by twelve siblings and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be held Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. in the Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte.117), Coventry. Interment will follow in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick. Visiting hours Friday 4-7 p.m. iannottifh.com
