Jared helping Warwick Mall to ‘bigger, better’ things

Posted

There was quite the line of customers waiting outside the new Jared The Galleria of Jewelry Saturday morning for the grand opening.

Although a bit chilly, the weather held out and the grand opening featured a bright and sunny fall morning.

More than 100 people waited outside the store, some with their significant others, some with children and others with friends all hoping to be one of the first customers in to receive a complimentary gift as part of the grand opening as well as be entered for a chance to win a pair of 1 carat Leo Diamond earrings, valued at over $3,000. The gift, for the first 200 customers, included coupons, jewelry cleaner and a jewelry travel case, all valued at more than $100.

Some were looking for early Christmas gifts for themselves, and others for their loved ones.

The freestanding store located in front of the food court at the Warwick Mall is the first Jared’s in the state and includes an onsite refreshment area, a safe play area for children, and a full service repair center that can do most projects in less than an hour.

There is also a Design and Service Center to “bring your jewelry dreams to life.”

Jared The Galleria of Jewelry, based out of Ohio, is operated by Signet Jewelers Limited, the world’s largest retailer of diamond jewelry and operates nearly 3,600 stores nationwide.

The new store carries “five times” the selection of a conventional jewelry store with brands such as Tolkowsky, Leo Diamond, Neil Lane Bridal and Designs, Le Vian Boutiques, Lois Hill, Pandora, Hearts Desire and Earthly Treasures Smithsonian.

In a press release Ann-Marie Patton, divisional vice president of Jared® The Galleria of Jewelry, said, “We are incredibly proud of the growth of the Jared® brand, but even more gratified that our guests continue to value the selection and experience that can only be found at our stores. Our newest location reflects everything that makes Jared special, and we look forward to serving the Warwick community and many more new areas as we continue to bring the Jared experience to guests nationwide.”

Aram Garabedian, co-managing partner for the Warwick Mall, said Jared’s will make a great addition to the mall, especially because all the new employees are local.

“We try and do a beautiful job for our people,” he said.

He and Mayor Avedisian looked back just five years, after the flooding in 2010, when the future of the mall was in question.

“The Warwick Mall came back from the floods stronger, bigger, and better than ever,” Avedisian said.

He noted Buffalo Wild Wings, Not your Average Joe’s as well as the new wing with Nordstrom Rack and now Jared’s, saying the mall continues to improve itself.

He believes the mall will be a shopping destination for Southern New England.

Jared representatives also announced that as part of a partnership with St. Jude’s, Jared’s will be making a $1,000 donation alongside the grand opening to the research hospital.

They also will continue their popular plush campaign where a portion of the proceeds from the purchase of designated plush toys will go to St. Jude’s.

Jared The Galleria Of Jewelry is located at 205 Lambert Lind Highway at the Warwick Mall. For more information, visit www.Jared.com, like them on Facebook or follow them on Twitter® at www.twitter.

When you can't make ends meet, the one thing you should be happy about is a new jewelry store opening, right? Notice that the people are lining up for freebies.

We'll have to see what Jared's bottom line is in a year...

With so many businesses up and running now our property taxes should could down. It was the lost tax revenue after the floods that the Mayor blamed raising taxes in 2011. If that's true we can expect lower tax rates in 2016.
