Jean I. (Stevens) Lavoie, age 85, of Rustic Way, Warwick, died on Thursday, May 5, 2016, at Sunny View Nursing Home in Warwick. She was the wife of the late Paul “Mike” Lavoie.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Artemas and Sarah (O’Connor) Stevens, she lived in Warwick since 1931. Jean was a retired bookkeeper. She was a member of the Northeast Hand Spinners and the Rhode Island Spinners Guild, and enjoyed exploring ancestry. She was a longtime active member of St. Barnabas Church in Warwick.
She is survived by two sons: Michael G. Lavoie and Mark P. Lavoie, both of Warwick; and four grandchildren, Danielle, Ethan, Hannah, and Jamie Lavoie. She was the sister of the late Arthur Stevens and Eva Stevens.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, May 12, at 8:15 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Requiem Eucharist at 9:30 a.m. in St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 3257 Post Road, Apponaug Village, Warwick. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 4 - 7 p.m. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
