Jill Smokler, author of “Confessions of a Scary Mommy,” will be signing her book on Tuesday, April 10 at 7 p.m. at the Barnes & Noble, Warwick Centre location, 1350B Bald Hill Road.
Smokler is a Baltimore mother of three who represents a new generation of women who recognize that it’s OK not to be perfect. Hilarious and honest, she isn’t afraid to say what every mom is thinking on topics that range from pregnancy (who are these women who glow?), to other people’s kids (especially the ones to avoid), to The Mommy Club (which all moms get to join once they have a child).
Part memoir, part advice, part confessional, “Confessions of a Scary Mommy” is a mix of original personal essays and hilarious anecdotes that doesn’t sugarcoat the sometimes harsh realities of life as a parent. Jill’s blog, ScaryMommy.com, averages over 700,000 page views per month and has been recognized with numerous blogging awards—she was recently ranked #32 out of Babble’s “100 Best Mommy Blogs of 2011” and # 5 on their list of “Top 50 Twitter Moms.” Jill’s take on parenting has also been featured in numerous print publications, including the New York Times, CNN and others.
