Joan Frances (Ramos) Bartlett of Warwick passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on April 19th, 2016.

Born on September 11, 1941 in Newport, RI to the late Gertrude Clark and Manuel Ramos, she grew up in the fifth ward, and attended Newport public schools, graduating from Rogers High School. Joanie worked at the former Almacs in Newport, at Metals Processing in Providence and as a CNA for the former Home Health Care. She loved spending time with family and friends above all else. She was the rock of the family and will be sorely missed. Joanie was famous for her deck parties, her Portuguese soup, her wild laugh and her heart of gold. She lived big and went peacefully.

Joanie was the devoted wife of Richard M. Bartlett with whom she spent 45 years. She was the big sister to Allan Ramos and partner, Margie Shifflett of Alexandria, VA, James Ramos and wife, Joan Paskewich of Oakdale, CT, Roger Ramos and wife, Ruthie Ortega of Los Angeles, CA, Robert Ramos and wife, Judy of Newport, Nancy Jean Ramos of Burrillville, RI; and her cousin and friend Stephen Gerry of PA. Joanie was the loving aunt of Nori Lembree, Cason Ramos, Allan Ramos, Dannielle Ramos Rash, Jean Rosa, Robert Ramos Jr., Katherine Ramos and many great nieces and nephews. Joanie is also survived by her goddaughter Amelia Selmeski, godson William Sant, dear friend and partner in crime Ellie Hull, and fur-baby and constant companion PeeWee.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 30th at 1:00 p.m. at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations to a charity of their choice.
