John D. Walsh, Jr. (Jack), 64, of Hoffman Estates, Illinois, formerly of Warwick, Rhode Island, passed away at home on May 17, 2012, with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Anna (Sydor) Walsh.
Born in Providence, he was the beloved son of the late John D. and Rosalie R. (McNamara) Walsh. Jack was a self-employed consultant, a processing engineer in the dairy and pharmaceutical industries. Among the companies that he worked for were East Greenwich Dairy; Kraft Foods, Inc.; Fujisawa, USA; Safeway, Inc.; and Webber/Smith, Inc. He traveled all over the United States and several foreign countries—Italy, Canada, Mexico, Viet Nam, and Saudi Arabia to mention a few. Jack proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a 1966 graduate of Pilgrim High School.
Besides his wife; he leaves a daughter, Jennifer C. (Walsh) Powers and her husband, Nick, and a son, Daniel K. Walsh, all from Ill; a brother, William L. Walsh, and his wife, Ann, of Deltona, Florida. a sister, Catherine R. (Walsh) Merolla, and her husband, Frank, of Smithfield, RI; two granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service with full military honors will be held in Illinois at a later date. Semper Fi.
