John H. Dwyer, 97, of Narragansett, RI, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2015 in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Mr. Dwyer was born in Providence to James and Catherine (Dunn) Dwyer. He was Manager of Production for ITT/Hamel-Dahl, where he worked most of his adult life until retirement. He was a member of the Rhode Island Army National Guard, the Warwick Knights of Columbus, a founding member of the Bonnet Shores Terrace Association and a past President of the Hoxsie Community Club. Mr. Dwyer was a communicant in Christ the King Church in Kingston.

John is survived by his daughter Constance L. (William J., Jr.) Porter; and one remaining sister, Rosella Crowshaw. Also survived by grandchildren Christine Porter (Jeffrey) Barton, William J. (Kathleen Woodruff) Porter III, Matthew (Lesa) Anderson, and Erica (Steven) Jones; and great-grandchildren Abigail, Alden and Andrew Barton, William and Danielle Porter, Jake and Haley Anderson, and Riley and Owen Jones. He was preceded in death by his wife, Miriam (Heuser) Dwyer; his daughter, Jeannine Anderson, and his brothers and sisters Albina Marshall, Mary Smith, Teresa Luiz, Helen Sheehan, Patricia Tabella, Rita Droege, James, Lawrence, Ambrose, Thomas and Joseph Dwyer.

Visiting hours are Saturday, December 5 from 9:00 until 10:45 a.m. followed immediately by the funeral from The Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial held at Christ the King Church, 180 Old North Road, Kingston, RI at 12:00 noon. Burial will be in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick.
