John Nickson

John Nickson, 78, passed away December 3, 2015 in West Palm Beach, Florida. He was the beloved husband Mary M. (Guzzo) Nickson for thirty-six years.

He was a son of the late James and Anna (Trenton) Nickson. Jack was in the printing industry his whole adult life. He began selling printing presses with AB Dick Company. He later went to work for Coronet Thermogravers as Regional Manager of the GA, PA & OH plants. He returned to RI and worked for Mercury Mail until he and his son, John, Jr., started OmniColor Printing in 198. He retired and moved to West Palm Beach, FL. Jack was a United States Marine Corp veteran of the Korean War. Jack and his wife, Mary, enjoyed golfing, bowling and travel. They had an ongoing card game for 36 years, and played every morning. He loved to watch movies and TV (completely in control of the remote!) He briefly dabbled in other hobbies, such as photography, oil painting, stained glass and jewelry making, until he lost interest.

He was the father of Gail (Terry) Dittes, John (Anne) Nickson, Jr., Michael Nickson, David (Alcina) Nickson, and James Nickson; brother of Henry Nickson and the late Agnes Flanagan, James Nickson, Jr., and Michael Nickson; grandfather of Tammy (Drew) Townsend, Melissa (Nick) Esposito, Amy (Ryan) Gordon, Ryan (Lindsay) Dittes, Rebecca Nickson, Kevin Dittes, Michael Nickson, Jr., Matthew Dittes, Kelsey Nickson, Jennifer Nickson and Teresa Dittes; great-grandfather of Landon, Colton, Lincoln, Clayton Townsend, Dominick and Vincent Esposito and Gabrielle Gordon; stepfather of Tony Lyons, Debi Souza, Larry Lyons, Marvin (Patty) Lyons, Paul (Esther) Lyons (and Jody), Mary (Tom) Hoar; step grandfather of Jordan and Shannon Hoar, Christopher Guilmette, Kelly Lyons, Jeremy Lyons, Andrea (Chris) Hughes and the late Kevin Lyons; step great-grandfather of Addison Lyons.

His funeral service will be held Friday, December 11, 2015 at 10 a.m. in the Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Rd., North Kingstown. Burial with military honors will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visitation Friday 9-10 a.m., prior to funeral service.
