John P. “Jack” O’Donnell, 68, former chief of the Warwick Highway Department and deputy chief of Warwick Department of Public Works, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Home & Hospice Care of RI. He was the beloved husband of Rhonda L. (O’Leary) O’Donnell.

He was a son of the late Everett and Anna (Camello) O’Donnell. Mr. O’Donnell was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was a member of the 11th Army Calvary, Purple Heart Association, DAV, VFW Post, American Legion Post, City of Warwick Pension Board, Bradford Men’s Club and the founder of the Warwick Municipal Retiree’s Association.

Jack was the loving father of John P. O’Donnell, Jr., Dawn M. O’Donnell, Thomas J. Angell and Stephanie M. O’Donnell; loving grandfather of David, Brittni, Xavier and Linden; loving great-grandfather of Carter. He was the brother of Thomas O’Donnell, Robert O’Donnell, Everett O’Donnell, Carol Angell, Ann Musk, Theresa Gage, Lana LaMake and the late Catherine O’Donnell, Stephen O’Donnell and Margaret Petit.

His funeral service will be held Monday, November 24, at 9:30 a.m. in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave. Burial with military honors will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Sunday 3-7 p.m.
