Joseph Gemma, age 78, of Lane E, Gaspee Point, Warwick, died at home on November 19, 2013. He was the husband of Mary A. (O’Neil) Gemma.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Alduino and Antonetta (Belmonte) Gemma, he lived in Warwick for 34 years. Mr. Gemma was employed by Foxon Co. in Providence for 45 years, retiring as a die cutter 13 years ago.

Besides his wife; he is survived by two daughters, Linda Joharian of Cranston and Melissa Smith of Greene; two brothers, Buddy Gemma and Robert P. Gemma, both of North Providence; seven step-children; Stephen Laflamme of Warwick, David Laflamme of Providence, Denise Laflamme of North Providence, Michael Laflamme of Jenson Beach, Florida, Susan Bennett of Albany, Georgia, Norman Laflamme of Johnston, and Rita Munson of Warwick; sixteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Anthony Gemma, Annette Gemma, and Alphonse Gemma.

His funeral was held on Saturday, November 23, from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rita Church, Oakland Beach Avenue, Warwick. Burial was in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick.
