Joseph J. O’Neill Sr., 82, died December 17, 2011 at Home & Hospice Care of RI. He was the beloved husband of Mary Lou (Alsfeld) O’Neill for 56 years.
He was a son of the late Minnie A. (Normandin) O’Neill. Mr. O’Neill was the owner of Ray’s Automotive Co. in Pawtucket and the original Action Auto Parts in Seekonk and retired from GTECH in 1997. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.
Joseph was the loving father of Joseph J. O’Neill Jr., James W. O’Neill and his wife, Daryl, and Nancy P. Oliveira; devoted grandfather of Christopher L. Oliveira; and brother of Frances O’Connell. He was the grandson of the late William and Alice (Martin) Normandin, with whom he lived during his childhood and teen years.
His funeral will be held Dec. 22 at 9 a.m. from Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Peter Church, Fair St., Warwick. Burial with military honors will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. Visiting hours are Dec. 21 from 4-8 p.m.
