Joseph P. Mitchell, age 46, of Foxcroft Avenue, Warwick, passed away unexpectedly on September 21, 2013 at Kent County Memorial Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Maureen (Gualtieri) Mitchell.

Born in Providence, a son of Catherine G. (Docherty) Mitchell of Warwick and the late Thomas P. Mitchell, he was a life-long Warwick resident. He was a 1986 graduate of Warwick Veterans Memorial High School. Mr. Mitchell was a master plumber, and a member of UA Local # 51.

Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by a son, Joshua J. Mitchell, and a daughter, Maggie M. Mitchell, both of Warwick; a brother, Daniel J. Mitchell of Warwick, five sisters, Linda S. Simmons of Warwick, Mary C. Braman of North Kingstown, Catherine M. Albertson, Colleen M. Mitchell, and Kerry A. Mitchell, all of Warwick; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Thomas P. Mitchell.

His funeral will be held on Friday, September 27, at 9 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane, Warwick. Visiting hours are on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
