Joseph W. Neil, Jr., 69 of Adams Street, died October 25, 2013 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Mary M. (Kane) Neil.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Joseph W. and Helen (O’Neil) Neil, he had been a Warwick resident for the past 35 years. Mr. Neil was a social worker with the R.I. Department of Human Services for 30 years before retiring in 1999. He was an army veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Neil was an honest and honorable man who loved his family and took great pride in all their endeavors. An enthusiastic reader, puzzle solver and conversationalist, Mr. Neil was also an avid Red Sox, Bruins and Patriots fan.

Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Timothy J. Neil and his wife, Sarah of Providence and Andrew J. Neil of Warwick. He was the brother of Edward J. Neil of West Warwick and Ellen Neil of Boca Grande, F\lorida; and loving papa of Audrey E. Neil.

His funeral will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the Frank P. Trainor & Sons Funeral Home, 982 Warwick Avenue, Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Church, Fair Street Warwick at 10 a.m. Calling hours are Monday 5-8 p.m.
