Josephine M. Jendzejec

Josephine M. (Slota) Jendzejec, 90, of Kulas Road, passed peacefully February 6, 2012 at West View Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Peter F. Jendzejec and Walter Ogrodnik.
Born in Wauregan, Conn., she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Dudek) Slota. She was a resident of West Warwick for most of her life. Mrs. Jendzejec was employed with the former Sunbury Dress Shoppe and Kent Regency Nursing Center for many years before retiring. She was a lifelong communicant of Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church, where she was a member of the Rosary Society and active with church functions.
She was the beloved mother of the late Dianne M. Petrasek and is survived by her three grandchildren, Susan Fournier, Deb Brown and Bob Petrasek; a brother, Rev. Canon Frederick V. Slota, Pastor Emeritus of St. Adalbert Church; a sister, Helen Gawlik; a son-in-law, Bill Petrasek; and two great-grandchildren, Tim and Kyle Fournier. She was the sister of the late Sophie Furmankiewicz, Frank P., John M. and Thaddeus Slota.
Her funeral was held Feb. 11 from Henault-Gallogly Funeral Home, 5 Eddy St., West Warwick. A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial was held in Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church, Washington St., Coventry. Interment followed in St. Mary Cemetery.
