Journalist to give workshops on freelance writing at library

Journalist Steve Starger teach how to write professional freelance articles and how to sell the work in a five-part workshop at the Warwick Public Library on Wednesdays, October 22 and 29 and November 5, 12 and 19 at 7 p.m.

Starger will teach writing techniques, how to find and choose subjects, how to interview and research, and how the business of writing works in print and online. Those attending are urged to bring paper and pen.

Starger is an editor, author, playwright, arts columnist and freelance writer. He has written for the Hartford Courant, Hartford Times, the Hartford Business Journal, Art New England magazine and Cashbox magazine. He is co-author of "Wally's World: The Brilliant Life and Tragic Death of Wally Wood, the World's Second-Best Comic Book Artist" and a contributor to "Gathered Light: The Poetry of Joni Mitchell's Songs."
