Judith H. Bailey, 73, a 50 year resident of East Greenwich, passed away October 6, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Rodney F. Bailey.

Born in West Warwick, she was a daughter of the late George and Ida (Rogers) Wolfenden. Mrs. Bailey was a long-time active member of the First Baptist Church of East Greenwich, having served on many boards and committees. She was co-founder, with the late Bess Russell, of the Peirce Street Pantry, was a member of the East Greenwich Town Council, where she had served 2 years as President, and had been appointed to the RI Agricultural Lands Preservation Commission and the RI Board of Elections. She was also a long-time contributor to the RI Pendulum and East Greenwich Magazine, as co-author of the Frenchtown News with Nancy Lemoi.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her children: Kathy Burroughs and her husband, Elliott, Paul Bailey and his wife, Cher, Cynthia LaPrise and her husband, Scooter, and Iva Reynhout and her husband, Jeffrey. She was Granny to: Thomas, Rachel, Will, Elizabeth, Jessica, Matthew, Alex, Daniel, Maggie and Cassidy. She also leaves a brother George Wolfenden, a sister Joyce Goff; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Jean Barrie.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, October 11th at 1:00 p.m. at the East Greenwich First Baptist Church, Corner of Peirce and Montrose Streets. Burial will be private. Calling hours: Thursday, October 10th 4-7 p.m. at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich.
