Julie B. DiFranco and John W. Cragin of Sandro Dr., Warwick, have announced their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Tullio and Olive DiFranco of Phenix Ave., Cranston. She is a graduate of Toll Gate High School, Warwick, and Rhode Island Red Cross. She is a retired CNA.

The groom-to-be is the son of Richard and Phyllis Rothemich of Cumberland. He is a graduate of Toll Gate High School and Johnson & Wales University. He is a retired United States Marine.

John and Julie met in August 2006. After knowing each other about two months they shared their first kiss, and John then headed to his home in Narragansett. Shortly after he returned and said he got halfway home and needed to go back because of that kiss. They spent their first two weeks together just talking about their lives and life and have not stopped since. They became engaged in April while having lunch in Walt’s Roast Beef. John got on one knee, asked for her hand and slipped an onion ring on her finger. He has since given her a beautiful engagement ring. They are planning a formal church wedding with a large reception afterwards on April 12, 2014. The wedding theme will be their wedding song, “Leather and Lace” by Stevie Nicks.
