Junior Achievement Receives $5,000 Grant From the Citizens Bank Foundation to Support Personal Finance Programs
By jaofri

Rhode Island – Junior Achievement of Rhode Island, which provides workforce readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy programs, recently received a $5,000 grant from the Citizens Bank Foundation to support its JA Personal Finance program for Rhode Island high school students.

"This grant will help JA to continue to provide youth in Rhode Island with the financial literacy skills they need to survive, thrive and contribute to our state's economy," said Lee Lewis, president of Junior Achievement of Rhode Island. “As one of the state’s predominant financial services organizations, we are pleased to have the support of Citizens Bank.”

Students participating in JA Personal Finance recognize the fundamental elements of their personal finances: earnings, saving and investing, budgeting, credit, risk management, and giving. They apply these fundamental elements to a personal financial plan that allows them to set specific goals for their lifelong financial needs and desired quality of life.

“Citizens Bank values our continued partnership with Junior Achievement,” said Ned Handy, President, Citizens Bank, Rhode Island. “We recognize the importance of teaching money management from a young age to foster sound financial decisions throughout adulthood.”
