Kaleidoscope Theatre’s production of ’Cinderella’s Christmas’ coming to Scottish Rite Auditorium

On Saturday, Dec. 13 at the Scottish Rite Auditorium, an original musical production of “Cinderella’s Christmas” will be performed by Kaleidoscope Theatre of Cranston. Showtime is 2 p.m., and admission is $10 in advance and $12 at the door.

This musical adaptation of the famous fairytale is loaded with beautiful songs and exciting dance, gorgeous costumes, exciting magic, lots of audience involvement and participation and a Christmas twist that makes this production tons of fun for everyone. A Rhode Island-based theatre company, Kaleidoscope Theatre has had international exposure and acclaim performing at two National Conventions and an International Convention in Jerusalem, Israel. The touring company has performed from Maine to Texas, and was seen for three years on WPRI-TV, Channel 12, the ABC affiliate in Rhode Island.

Lauded for its unique versions of famous fairytales, Kaleidoscope Theatre is well known for presenting plays that help children cope with such problems as divorce, drug education, friendship, developmental disabilities and mainstreaming (inclusion) and received numerous awards including a RI Theatre Achievement Award and a RI Jefferson Award.

Kaleidoscope Theatre’s “Cinderella’s Christmas” is an original musical written by David G. Payton of Cranston, the executive director of Kaleidoscope Theatre. Cast members are Cinderella (Julia Bartoletti of Charlton, Mass.); Prince Charming (Joseph Catanzaro of Johnston); the Stepmother (Laura Benjamin of Cumberland); the two stepsisters Disgustia (Vanessa Marshall of West Warwick) and Putricia (Chandler Woods of Cranston); the Fairy Godmother (Marianne Douglas of Barrington); the King (Brian Wolfe-Leonard of Bridgewater, Mass.); the Minister (Joshua Gannon-Salomon of Providence); and the mice Willy (Mac Ash) and Wendy (Ellie Ash), both of Providence.
