Kathryn L. “Kay” (Swann) Ray, 91, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2013 at Kent Hospital. She was the wife of the late Walter E. Ray.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Evie (Walker) Swann. Kay was a secretary with the Warwick School Department for many years before retiring.
She was the beloved aunt of David Swann (Peggy) of Coventry, Brian Swann (Kathleen) of West Greenwich, Bette Yazidjian and her late husband Sergio of Cranston, Howard M. Ray of Tennessee, Nancy Feldman (Murry) of Boise, Idaho, Ervin Ray of North Carolina and the late Gary and Gail Swann; dear sister-in-law of Barbara Swann; and beloved great aunt; and great-great aunt of many cherished nieces and nephews. She was also a sister of the late Allen and Collis Swann; and dear companion of the late Thomas Parrott.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte.117), Coventry, with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in The Church of the Apostles, Fairview Ave., Coventry. Burial in the Rhode Island Veterans’ Cemetery will be private for the family.
