Kent Hospital is proud to recognize World Breastfeeding Week, Aug. 1-7. This year the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action is celebrating its 20th Breastfeeding Week with the theme, “The Road to Lifelong Health Begins with Breastfeeding.”
Keeping breastfeeding high on the public health agenda is critical to improving global health. Early and exclusive breastfeeding with the introduction of appropriate complementary feeding around 6 months of age ensures that both mothers and infants receive maximum health benefits.
The Women’s Care Center at Kent will be hosting a small reception for past patients from their mother’s group and staff to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week. The reception will be held on Aug. 1 at 2 p.m. in the solarium on the third floor. Light refreshments will be served.
