Kevin M. Garces, 21, of Warwick, Rhode Island passed away Monday, December 22, 2014.
Kevin graduated from Tollgate High School, Class of 2011 and was currently employed at Lowes in Warwick. He was scheduled to start college at CCRI in the spring of 2015. Kevin positively affected all those who knew him with his humor, love and strength. He was a quiet and loving soul. Kevin could make light of any situation and cheer anyone up. He was dedicated to fitness and body building. Kevin was meticulous with his diet and was an inspiration to those around him. He was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles football team, hip hop music, snow boarding and attended many concerts. He enjoyed and competed in mixed martial arts where he received numerous awards.
Kevin was the beloved son of and is survived by his parents, Jennifer Duffy-Garces and Maurice Garces, his brother, Jason, 26, sister, Jillian, 11; nephew, Ryan, 4, his maternal grandparents, Francis and Linda Duffy, his aunts: Kelley, Shannon, Kathleen and Marcela, his uncles: Diego and Juan; ten cousins; and two Sharpei dogs; Abby and Bo chicken. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents; Amado and Fanny Garces Alzate.
We have lost our precious Kevin far too soon and we were not ready to give him up. He is gone for now along with a piece of each of our hearts but he will never be forgotten any day of our lives. May he watch over the rest of us.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 8:30 am from Gorton-Menard Funeral Home and Crematory, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Church, 350 Fair Street, Warwick, RI. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 30, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston, RI.
