The CCRI Knights’ golf team is in Chautauqua, N.Y. at Chautauqua Golf Club for the 2013 NJCAA Division III Golf National Championship, and they had a strong showing on the first day. Playing in the four-day event, the Knights shot a 350 on Tuesday, putting them in 12th place overall.
The top five schools on day one shot very well and the leading team is Jamestown Community College (the host school), from Jamestown N.Y., which shot a 297, followed by Vincennes University from Vincennes, Indiana which shot a 303.
Individually, the Knights’ team members shot as follows: Anthony Lovechio (Wakefield) and Patrick O’Connor (North Kingstown) both led the Knights with an 84, followed by Nick DeSalvo (Burrillville, RI) with an 89. Gina Bartolotta (Wakefield) and Zach Sullivan (Cumberland) both shot a 93.
