After winning its NJCAA Division II National Tournament opener over MCC-Penn Valley on Tuesday, the CCRI men's basketball moved into the Final Four with an 85-64 victory over Baltimore City CC on Wednesday night. The third-seeded Knights will face No. 2 South Suburban College on Friday at 7 p.m. for a spot in the national championship game.

CCRI found itself in a battle with Baltimore City on Wednesday, falling behind 7-0 and seeing leading scorer Desmond Williams held without a point in the first half. Still, the Knights went to the break up by three.

In the second half, they pulled away. Williams heated up for 23 second-half points and CCRI built a 10-point lead eight minutes in. The Knights led by as many as 25 before cruising to the victory.

Williams' 23 led the Knights. Roger Livramento recorded another double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds and Bryan Yarce added 13 points and five assists. Keith Lackerson chipped in 12 points, Isaac Medeiros had 12 and nine rebounds and Trevor Mabry scored six.

"Great win for our kids first and foremost," said head coach Rick Harris. "Going to the ‘Final Four’ is all due to their hard work, determination and togetherness. This victory is also due to all the support we receive from the CCRI Athletic Department, the CCRI community and all of our loyal fans. I continue to be so proud of this group and feel blessed to be able to coach them."

In addition to the semifinal berth, the Knights also ran their record to 30-4 which is a new high-water mark for any CCRI basketball team, men's or women's.

CCRI won its opener 91-79 over MCC-Penn Valley. Williams poured in 36 points and had 11 rebounds while Yarce tallied 18 points and seven assists. Livramento had 17 points and 17 rebounds.
