Charles and Linda Benson of Warwick and Edward and Gail Pendergast of Warwick announce the engagement of their children, Kristin Marie Benson of Warwick and Michael Edward Pendergast of Seekonk, Mass.

The bride-to-be is a 2004 graduate of Warwick Veterans Memorial High School, the University of Rhode Island and Northeastern University. She is currently employed by Johnson & Wales University.

The groom-to-be is a 2003 graduate of Warwick Veterans Memorial High School and a 2007 graduate of Johnson & Wales. He is a police officer.

The couple met while students in high school and started dating in 2009. They were engaged in January 2011. They will wed at St. Kevin’s Church in Warwick with a reception to follow at Alpine Country Club in Cranston.
